Wordless Wednesday: Cats Get The “Crazies”

Sometimes cats get the “crazies” when they suddenly run, leap into the air like a ballerina and then stop on a dime.  It’s entertaining for us, and some theorize it’s their instinct to stay in shape.

I’m not quite sure how they throw their bodies around into such strange, yet graceful, shapes. I’ve tried to catch it numerous times on my cellphone, but my cat, Bubba, clearly stops every time before I can hit record. Darn him!

I would love, love, love to get a video of their moves, Jennifer. But I think it’d be impossible to do. They get so crazy, leaping and jumping. It’s just hysterical, isn’t it?

      Love that name…Bubba.

      Thanks for sharing your story.

I have two cats. Every night when Jim and I settle in to watch TV downstairs, my tabby Abby comes and sits on my lap. Our other cat, our crazy Isabel? Well, she can be heard on the level above us running and jumping and, what sounds like, doing flips from the couch to the coffee table then racing into the dining room to do a dance routine on the table (which she is NOT supposed to get on). We joke that she’s playing with the ghost cat we have in our house. Though the need to exercise her saggy belly is more likely the reason. Maybe.

That is so funny, Lisa. Yes, that haunted house story you told me about in Chicago. I remember we were eating dinner out (my menopausal brain can’t remember the name, but you know what I mean) and even there you spooked me!

Do you think the cats see the ghosts? Ah, you’d probably have Casper cause he’s friendly and smiling like you.

      Thanks for sharing your story.

Having three cats myself I’m well acquainted with Cat Crazies, especially the ones at 3 AM.

We use a sound machine, ear plugs and an eye mask. It helps avoid the noises of those middle of the night crazies!

Thanks for sharing your story, Yael.

I love that name every time you say it, Helene. They are so entertaining, aren’t they? Priceless.

You explained it so well that I was visualizing it at the same time. (You ARE a great writer!)

I needed to get used to that look, because the back of our house is all woods, and I used to wonder if a prowler or something was lurking where they were looking. Agh!

      You are so funny, Tammy.

Yes, Linda. I wish I had her exercise routine. Leaping, jumping, running. It would keep me in shape, too!

Love hearing from you, as always~
